"40 years of timeless Italian excellence in Manchester"
ABOUT US
Giovanni's, formerly known as Don Giovanni, reopened its doors in November, 2024, marking a new chapter in its 40-years legacy. Manchester's oldest independent Italian restaurant returned with a refreshed name, modern interiors and an exciting menu - all while preserving the timeless traditions that have made it a beloved institution for generations.
MENU
For over four decades Giovanni's has been a part of the city, offering authentic Italian cuisine and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Our dishes are thoughtfully crafted to cater to every occasion and taste. The menu celebrates the finest and freshest seasonal ingredients, many sourced from local trusted suppliers. At Giovanni's we make fresh pasta daily and our pizzas are made with double-fermented dough to achieve the perfect texture. The menu extends its expertise to expertly cooked fish and meat. And for a sweet finale Giovanni's desserts are a testament to Italian indulgence.
At Giovanni's we elevate your dining experience with a selection of fine wines, handcrafted cocktails, and artisanal spirits. Whether you're here for a pre-dinner aperitif, a nightcap, or simply to unwind with friends, our bar is the ideal spot to indulge and savor the moment.

What our guests say about us
Miriam R Lincoln, UK
The best Italian dining experience
Lovely warm, Italian family welcome accompanied by stunning food and fabulous, attentive service! The antipasti is a plate of perfection with a plentiful mix of meat, cheese and bread, an olive that appears to be straight from the vine, chargrilled veg and preserved lemon. Mum loved the minestrone soup so much last time that she couldn’t resist not having it again today. We both chose the Chicken parmigiana for our main course and ordered Parmesan fries to go with it. Both were divine and complemented each other perfectly. The fries were hot and seasoned well. We took the dessert menu that was offered but we both knew that we would be missing out on other options as there was no way either of us could pass on the Tiramisu which is evidently made on a ‘family’ scale and then served up in dishes. Simply the lightest, most decadent Tiramisu that Manchester has to offer!! It began raining whilst we were having dessert and we were provided with complimentary umbrellas to part with, along with a very warm hug! We will be back as soon as I can make it over from Lincoln!!

Lovely Food - Excellent Service
We have been visiting Giovannis (Don Giovannis) since the mid 90s and have always loved it. The new make-over is lovely - very cosy atmosphere. The food and wine were delicious but the real star of the evening was the staff. The service was so laid back, yet efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. We look forward to returning soon.
